Guide
Best subreddits for SaaS marketing
There are two kinds of subreddits that matter for SaaS: founder communities, where you get feedback and share what you are building, and buyer communities, where your actual customers ask for help. Most founders spend all their time in the first kind. The customers are usually in the second.
Founder communities (feedback, launches, peers)
- r/SaaS: SaaS building, pricing and growth discussion; check its rules for when self-promotion is allowed.
- r/startups: startup questions and feedback; it has strict rules on self-promotion, so read them first.
- r/Entrepreneur and r/smallbusiness: broader business discussion; small-business owners there are often buyers too.
- r/SideProject: built for sharing projects you made.
- r/indiehackers and r/microsaas: bootstrapped and solo founders.
- r/alphaandbetausers: specifically for finding testers for early products.
Rules change, so always read the sidebar and pinned posts before posting.
Buyer communities (where customers ask for tools)
These depend entirely on who you sell to. Examples:
- Marketing tools: r/marketing, r/digital_marketing, r/SEO, r/PPC.
- Sales tools: r/sales.
- Developer tools: r/webdev, r/programming, language and framework subreddits.
- Freelancer and agency tools: r/freelance, r/agency.
- Ecommerce tools: r/ecommerce, r/shopify.
A smaller niche subreddit where people ask “what do you use for…?” is usually worth more than a huge general one.
How to find the right niche subreddits
Search Reddit for the phrases your buyers use (“alternative to <competitor>”, “looking for a <category> tool”), sort by New, and note which subreddits keep appearing. Those are your buyer communities. Also look at where your competitors get mentioned.
How to market in them without getting banned
- Lead with a useful answer; mention your product at most once and only when it fits.
- Disclose that you built it, every time.
- Respect each subreddit’s self-promotion rules and any promo threads.
- Don’t copy-paste replies, use multiple accounts or manipulate votes.

Watching many subreddits at once
Checking a dozen subreddits by hand every day is slow. LeadPerch searches Reddit (plus Hacker News and X) for your phrases daily, scores each post’s buying intent from 0–100, and drafts a disclosed reply you edit and post yourself. It never posts or DMs for you.
FAQ
What is the single best subreddit for SaaS marketing?
There isn’t one. Founder subreddits are good for feedback; the best for customers is whichever niche subreddit your buyers ask questions in.
Can I post my SaaS on r/SaaS or r/startups?
Only within each subreddit’s current rules, which often restrict promotion to specific threads or formats. Read the sidebar first.
Is LeadPerch affiliated with Reddit?
No. LeadPerch is independent.
